There is a new #1 contender in the UFC featherweight division, Frankie Edgar. By knocking out Chad Mendes last night in the main event of the Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale Edgar earned a title shot according to UFC President Dana White. “The Answer” has now won five straight fights at 145 and will face either Conor McGregor or Jose Aldo depending on how it shakes out in the main event of UFC 194 tonight in Las Vegas.

Chad Mendes has now lost two straight at 145 and will likely have to move up to 155 or drop to 135 to become a contender again. “Money” lost to McGregor in July in his bid to win the interim UFC featherweight title.
