Anderson Silva suffered a fractured leg at UFC 168 in the main event against Chris Weidman. The bout was stopped in the second round after the champ clearly dominated the first round. Silva thre a kick that landed so hard it fractured his leg in two. ‘The Spider’ couldn’t walk and fell to the ground. Weidman walked away and didn’t attack because he saw how bad the injury was. The ref immediately stepped in and stopped the contest and awarded the fight to Weidman.
It’s sad if this is how it ends for Silva. He had been dominant for such a long time. He had to be stretchered to the back after the fight. Hopefully he can make a quick recovery but it’s not likely we will see him in the Octagon anytime soon, if ever again.
